Okay i tried changing the fuel filter.. didnt work?

on my chevy 454 that wont stay running.... i changed the fuel filter. still wont continue to run. again. problem... 1990 chevy 454. turn key over. cranks. runs for approx 15 seconds then stops running. can crank again, runs for 15 seconds then stops. have checked out everything i can think of.. fuel pump is in tank (that sucks!!) any more ideas on what the problem might be?? need this truck to go camping in august.

carb or FI? maybe carb has a screen going int it from fuel line...FI differnt matter...more info on what else...miles,,,last tune...etc

sounds like fuel to me. a couple of things you could try. check the fuel pump regulator and run a test on the fuel pump, it might not be keeping the pressure you need to keep it running.
if its an %26quot;in line%26quot; fuel filter u may have put it on backwards...it has aroows stamped on the side to show u the direction u should put it in....good luck
