okay so now i have to drop the tank down and replace the fuel filter on my 1990 chevy dooley... GREAT!!.. estimate time of repair please

you are going to be very frustrated to find nothing but a fuel pump in the tank. the fuel filter is on the driver side of the frame inside behind the cross member. i have done several of them. my father has a ,90 silverado, did that one laying down in the drive way.

1990 chevy has a filter in-line beside the frame on the drivers side.-NOT in the tank
fuel filter is mounted on the frame on drivers side not in tank. takes about 20 minutes.
Like others stated, the fuel filter is located on the underbody, unless you are refuring to a fuel pump than those are located inside the tank which would need to be dropped.
