What do you gain by changing your fuel filter?

For fuel injected cars you end up getting better gas mileage because you get more constant fuel flow and pressure at the injectors. I also have found that you get better and more consistent engine performance. I change mine once a year.
What do you gain by changing your fuel filter?
better gas mileage
What do you gain by changing your fuel filter?
You keep your system from clogging to the point that your car would run poorly or stall.
It makes a huge difference in gas mileage right away.
I'm one of those people who never changes the fuel filter until I suspect it's causing a problem. Change the air filter instead for better gas mileage. If the filter is clogged it will cause problems, if it's an old one and the fuel is getting through it's going thru' smaller holes to get there so it's even more filtered than a new one ?
keeps system and injectors clean
a filter catches the dirt from getting into your injectors. it makes your car run better and keeps it from stalling.
it can gain 2 to 4 MPG
piece of mind

its never really changed unless u think its the culprit in a fuel related problem. they only need to be changed once every 2 years. most dont get gunked up bad seeng as how theres already a filter sock in the tank attached to the fuel pump

but if your talking about a carborated car then its a simple fix and really cheap, and those are also more likely to get dirty and clog
