How do you change the fuel filter on a 2005 Buick Lacrosse?

My car starts and then shuts off, I thought it might be the fuel filter but I have found out that there is a TSB for this same problem. What can you do about a TSB?

the gas filter is back by the back tire on the drivers side. take 2 line wrenches and remove the filter, but release the pressure first.
