Changing the Fuel Filter - BMW 316i?

Anyone got any experience of doing this?

The filter seems to be in an unusual location, and the housing looks like it'll be hard to remove.

There is very little length in the flexible pipe bits, making it tricky to work around.

How do I handle this?

Which model do you have?

Whatever it is, and you may already be aware, an absolute must is to depressurise the fuel system before disconnection.

I think you have to remove the gas tank. and please make sure there is no gas in it first. If I was you I would take it to a shop...
To depressurise the system remove the fuel pump relay while the engine is running.
You might as well check the charcoal canister while you're at it (if you have one)
