Where is The Fuel Filter Located on a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS?

Ok i am getting into imports and i bought this eclipse. i need to change the fuel filter but i have no manuel with the car so i am wondering if anyone could tell me where about to look...other than jackup the car and look..i need sort of a specfic location..ive read that its near underneath the window washer unit or under the battery box or something.

Besides the location on the right rear under the car in front of the fuel tank, a few were also in the motor compartment under the windshield washer bottle on the firewall. Have fun!

It's probably near the back of the car. They are usually near the fuel tank because that makes them more efficient. Think about it, what good is a filter if the fluid already ran through 10 feet or more of small piping.



Start at the top of your fuel tank and look for something the size of a large prescription pill bottle. It will have one fuel line going in one side and another coming out the other.



Sorry, but you're gonna have to crawl under your car. Some fuel filters require special tools to get them off. If they didn't, they could simply just fall apart. Try not to get fuel in your mouth too. I've done it and it's not pleasant.
The fuel filter is located on the passenger side about 8 - 10 inches before the rear wheel and it's about 6 - 7 inches under the car. there are only 6 bolts needed to be taken off. 2 for the bracket that holds the filter on and 1 that secures a break line to that bracket There will be a real nice bit of gas all over the place if you don't use a pan of some sort to catch the gas. just make sure you take note of the which side is which on the filter when you put the new one in place, if you mess that up your car won't run very well.
