Huh?
This can be caused by dirty fuel injectors. If the gas is not in a fine enough mist it takes too long to burn when the combustion cycle is short such as high RPM.
Muffler shops can do a %26quot;back pressure test%26quot; for you, most will do it for free to sell you a converter. Thats where I would start. Have the fuel pressure checked too. Low pressure will let it run until you demand power then it will fall flat. If they say all is good, could be timing chain slack. This can be checked with a timing light. The mark will be constantly moving around, however if the motor is surging this will also make the mark move. Rev it up to 1500 to stabilize it and do the check.
