How do you change a fuel filter on a 2002 jeep grand cherokee?

How do you get the hoses uncliped from the filter?

I'm not specifically familiar with this arrangement, but most of them have two nuts that you need to put wrenches on and turn in opposite directions. Or, one nut stays stationary and the other nut turns and loosens the filter from the fuel line. Hope that helps.

This is not the wright answer, there are not any nuts on the filter at all. There are some push clips on the fuel line that require a tool to take them apart. If someone does not know the wright answer why would they answer at all?

The Jeep grandcherokee is the only jeep in the family to have any external filter infront of the gas tank. There is not tool needed push the fuel lines in and pinch plastic keepers together and pull. This is also one of the few jeeps to have a cabin air filter too.

if it isnt the nuts there, you are probably talking about a quick disconnect. i think you should just be able to pull on the colored clips, they should slide, then after they are released the lines should pull right off, but be carfull, a car that old tends to lead to frail plastic lines, and the quick disconnect is very easy to break.
if your still having problems goto your local auto parts store and see if they have a tool to remove the filters - the cheap ones are made out of plastic, and work just fine.

to use it push the line into the filter, then the removal tool until it stops, then remove the line, %26amp; repeat on the other side of the filter. try not to be laying right under the filter when removing, the gas will burn on your skin and it smells bad too.
The fuel filter is inside the gas tank. Drain the tank and lower it down. You will find your fuel pump mounted on top.
